coastal academy
I am going to start grammar with my 8 1/2 year old dd. She did FLL 1 a few years ago, and has been working through PLL. Would she be OK starting Rod and Staff English 3 with really no formal grammar experience, or would it be better for her to go through Rod and Staff 2 first? She has a late August birthday so she can handle 3rd grade work. I know it's later in the year so I am leaning towards just getting Rod and Staff 3. She reads on a 5th or 6th grade level and is very advanced in comprehension, but average in everything else. I also considered FLL 3 (scripted is not really my style) and GWG but Rod and Staff seems to fit her learning style best. I will not be using the writing portion, only grammar, and I will still be supplementing as time permits with dictation, poetry, and picture study from PLL. Thank you for any help. chepyl
I am using level 2 with my 6year old, it is really easy. I would go with level 3 for an 8 year old.
