Jeana
would you go ahead and start 6 or finish 5 then go on to 6. We have finished all but the last chapter. It has been a bit of a hectic year. I do know that they usually start off with some review but what do you think? Thanks, jeana
Rhondabee
I would go ahead with 6. Or, you could just do the last chapter of 5 first next year. That's what I'm doing with R&S-7. There was just so much good writing (& research) instruction in the last chapter, that I knew would be forgotten over the summer, so I just decided to wait. We won't do all the lessons in the last chapter before starting 8 - just the ones dealing with writing and reference books. =) Rhonda
Beth in Central TX
How far did you get? I think you could safely skip Chapter 10 on "Captialization, Reference Books, and More Punctuation", but I don't think I would skip Chapter 9 on "Prepositions, Conjunctions, and Interjections." I would skip the writing lessons and reviews, but finish as many of the main lessons as I could before moving on to R&S 6. There's built-in review in the R&S grammar program, but it also assumes prior knowledge as it builds on new concepts in the next level. That's what makes this program more difficult to jump in mid-stream...HTH!
Melanie
Neither of my children did chapter 10 in R&S 5. We thought it was overkill. :)
