  1. If you were intending to purchase anything from Memoria Press I'd appreciate if I could purchase it for you with my credit and you pay me. I don't need anything from there but could really use the money for other curriculum. Contact me on jeanaod@yahoo.co.nz Thank you, Jeana
  2. Hello Jann. I have emailed and PM'd you but am not sure if you received it. My daughter is 13 and is struggling with math. I was wondering if you would be able to offer any tutoring for her over the summer. We live in New Zealand so are unable to do your online classes because of the time difference. I was thinking about doing Lial's BCM this fall with her and if I could get her up to speed start her in Introductory Algerbra at age 14. Would that work? Also, would you consider having a Geometry class at a later time frame so that I could have my son take your online class? If not what is your recommendation for Geometry for a Teacher who isn't very good at teaching Math. Thank you Jann. Jeana O'Donnell
  3. Thank you Mandy. I will remember that. I accidentally posted this post three times because my computer kept timing out on me and I didn't think it had posted so if you see this three times that is why : ). Thank you for your help. I think I will go with BCM for next year and work on some of the Key to series this summer. Jeana
  4. Thank you for your suggestions. I will look into each of them. I think I will go with BCM for this fall. I might do some of the key to series this summer for fractions. She seems to have forgotten a lot about them. However, as soon as I remind her how to do it she is able to complete the problem with 100%. I guess BCM for 8th grade, pre algerbra for 9th, Geo 10th and Alg. 2 for 11th will be ok. Thanks guys. Jeana
  5. She makes basic computation mistakes. She can add, subtract, and multiply but then she goes to do them and makes simple mistakes so in Math 6/5 she got all of the difficult problems correct but missed the subtracting and adding problems! Then in Math 7/6 she missed the majority of the problems. However, when I jog her memory on how to do them she is away and has no trouble. Hth's more.
  6. My daughter just tested Saxon Math 6/5 and TT 7. Much lower than she or I anticipated. She is really discouraged by this and I am at a loss at to what I should do. Can you recommend an online tutor or what curriculum would be best for her. Any suggestions are accepted and appreciated. Thanks, JEana
  7. My dd (just turned 13), is struggling with math. She just tested Saxon 6/5 and TT 7. I am at a loss as to what to do for her. Her real problem is retention not understanding. She did well on test during the year but when she took these placement test she didn't test into the grade that she was supposed to be in. Can you suggest the best course of action? I am open to online tutor and any remedial work that she might need to take part in. I too struggle with math so I need something that will systematically teach and help her and I together. Thank you for any suggestions you might have. Jeana
  8. Hello all my daughter just turned 13 and is really struggling with math. She just took the Saxon math placement test and scored into Math 6/5. She tested in Teaching Textbooks to begin Math 7. She is ver despondent about this and I am trying to find a program or an online tutor that might be able to help her. I am open to any suggestions. Her problem isn't really that she can't do math she more struggles with staying focused. She has retention problems. However, once she learns it she test straight away fine and then looses the knowledge. Therefore a repitious program would be best maybe. Thank you for any suggestions that you might give.
  9. I bought a new computer and now my DVT's for Lial's Introductory Algebra won't work. Everytime I place them in the computer and click play my real player says there has been a general error. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thank you, Jeana
  10. WOW Lori, thank you so much for that great detailed answer. I will look at all of this later. Thanks again, Jeana
  11. Thank you for that response. I will look into that. I have Vocabulary from Classical roots but don't know how to use it. If anyone has this how do you set up each lesson and has it been good for your students vocabulary. If I can't figure our how to use Vocabulary from Classical roots I will probally use Wordly Wise. Thanks, Jeana
  12. Hello everyone. I am wondering what would be the best program for 9th-12th grade for a child who hasn't done any previous vocab. work? Any suggestions would be great. Jeana
