Kim in Appalachia
My dd will be in 9th grade next year, and I would prefer she did science with an online course. We could use Potter's school or Veritas, but they use Apolgia (at least I thought Potter's school did). I would rather use something else, but I don't know of other resources. Are there any? Karis
"Gizmos" - they're science simulations for use with Prentice Hall. (I think.)

Thanks for mentioning them. I just checked them out. They don't use Prentice Hall, but it does look like it could work. It's not quite an online class, like Potter's School, but it looks good. I'm frustrated. I know I could teach a decent science course, but I lack time. Plus my dd and I seem to but heads. :tongue_smilie: But time is the big issue. I don't have the time to do a good enough job.
KarenNC
Have you checked Thinkwell? I don't know if they use Prentice Hall, but I believe they are secular. You can get specials through Homeschool Buyers Co-op.

samba
Hi Kim, Derek Owens offers a Physics course based on a Prentice Hall text by Giancoli. The only prerequisite is Alg 1. http://www.derekowens.com/course_info_physics.php We're thinking of doing his Physical Science in the fall and possibly following a physics-first sequence for HS. Kim in Appalachia
That looks good. But we really want Bio first. On a completely different note, I have to fine time to call you. :)
Kim in Appalachia
Yes, that would be great! Thanks.
