TheApprentice
Ds is using MM6. He will do just fine in the lessons, and then come test time, it's 70 - 78%. While it's not failing, I want to see better retention. I was looking at CLE to see if that may introduce the concepts in a way that will stick. I may need to make a mid-year switch for him. WWYD? kiana
Where does he make his errors? Are they careless, sloppy, "Oh yeah, duh" errors or conceptual errors?
wapiti
Do you use the chapter reviews (and the cumulative reviews)? If I remember correctly, the chapter tests are very similar to the chapter reviews, so you should have a good idea how he's doing based on how he did with the chapter review. Look at what kinds of mistakes is he making - is he forgetting how to actually do something, or not being careful enough, etc. eta, I'd think it would be easier to add in extra review than it would be to switch curricula in the middle of 6th grade. I'd start fresh with another program when you start prealgebra, after finishing MM6. Edited December 16, 2011 by wapiti
TheApprentice
For the Chapter 5 test, he had trouble with the word problems, and then just how to simplify before multiplying. He just keeps saying how he forgets because it was taught earlier in the chapter. He probably needs more review.
