WTMindy
My 9yob, who is constant noise and motion, is on a 5 day trip to Nebraska with my in-laws and his cousin. Why do I find myself longing for the noise? Why do I miss the constant, "Mommy, guess what. Mommy, look at this. Mommy, Mommy, Mommy?" Why do I miss the irritating sounds of the ball beating against the wall? Dd and I are going to have a fun day today. We're going to go buy her first bra, go to Starbucks, rent Phantom of the Opera and have a girl-day! But, I really miss that other kid!! Adrianne
I know how you feel. I usually can't wait until dh takes dss out for a day with dad and then all day I feel lonely and I miss them. Then I always feel silly for feeling lonely. I guess I really like my family!
ereks mom
...when dh & the dc are gone, I MISS them terribly! With ER leaving for college in 2.5 months, I am feeling 'clingy' with my family. I've literally dreaded the day ER leaves home his entire life!

Rich with Kids
:iagree: I'm always a little off when one piece of our kid puzzle is missing. It changes the entire dynamic of our household.
sadiegirl
Our two boys ages 11 and 12 went with Grandma and Aunt D. and cousins on a youth church event last weekend and my husband and I had 4 days of time of our own. We did the same thing last year and we were sooo lonely for them but this year---we both commented that it was nice to have the time. I guess my thing is this year is the fact that they are growing up and their down-time that they have is not so Mom-centered as in their younger years.
