Rose in BC
I'm thinking 32 GB but am debating paying the extra for 3G. Any thoughts?
Sarah CB
I'm thinking 32 GB but am debating paying the extra for 3G. Any thoughts? I would go for the 3G. The kids and I all have iPads, but none of us have 3G. I would have liked to have bought a pay as you go plan so that we could have the option of using internet while we were out. Are you still with HCOS? The compute lease program works really well (and very affordably) for iPads.
Kathy in Richmond
I'm normally a very frugal person, but I don't regret purchasing my 3G iPad at all. We've used the GPS to navigate a cross-country trip, booking hotels from the front seat as we drove, finding interesting attractions to stop and see on the way, etc. Around town I also use the GPS, the internet, etc. When I flew to visit the kids last week, it was handy to have internet available anywhere and everywhere to occupy the down times. And I love that the 3G service is just a month-by-month commitment. I can cancel for the months when I'm not traveling/needing it so much and resume the service later. nukeswife
I do fine without the 3G but that's because where I go 99% of the time there is free wifi. Now as to size get the biggest one you can afford. I love my 32, but would have gotten the 64 in a heart beat had we been able to afford it. I was able to get the kids a 64gb refurbished iPad1 from the apple store, and I'm glad we went bigger for them.
ErinE
Unless you're often in the boonies, I wouldn't pay for the 3G. As nukeswife said, there's free wi-fi everywhere. Definitely go for the largest GB you can afford, but I'd pass on the 3G.
MamaT
I got 3G mostly for being able to use it in the car on road trips or while camping.
