cdrumm4448
DS wants to play the guitar, also. I've researched sizes, but there are so many choices as far as brands! Do you own a great, reasonably priced student guitar? Help!
Starr
Dh, guitarist, likes the Baby Taylor.

KellyGirl
What do you consider "reasonably priced?" We have lots of guitars in our house (dh and I both play) including a Baby Taylor that we take with us on vacation, or just pull out when we want to play something quick. It's a great little guitar - it stays in tune fairly well and it has a really good sound for its size. BUT, a Baby Taylor is $300. I know I tried out some of the cheaper ones when I bought my Baby Taylor. I think that the Yamaha (which is around $130) would have been my top choice if I had less to spend, but it was a few years ago so my memory might not be accurate. I didn't really want to spend more than $100. He already plays the violin and we have a nicer student violin.
Starr
Since he plays the violin he will have an ear for music and will want something that sounds good. Go to the music store and they will play them, let him play them and help you decide.
cdrumm4448
After much research, I went with this one: http://www.amazon.com/Jasmine-Takamine-JS341-Acoustic-Guitar/dp/B0006V6S0Y It is recommended as the top student violin. I got an additional 10% off! So, it was a little over my price range, but you're right. I don't want him to learn on a crummy instrument. Thanks for all the help!
