Staceyshoe
Does this really work? Does anybody have one? Any tips?:bigear:
elinnea
We have two and they really do work. If you have the room I would suggest having two because then you can keep filling the second one while the first one breaks down. Also if you are using it primarily for kitchen scraps, try to put in layers of "brown" stuff like leaves: it helps everything to compost faster and keeps smells down. Erica in OR
We have two as well and have used them successfully for several years. DH drilled holes all over them for air exchange. They have the types of lids that lock on with handles. I like them because they're easy to roll around the yard to mix them up. Staceyshoe
YAY! So glad that this will work! I bought one trash can today, drilled holes, and partially filled it with some leaves and veggie scraps. If all goes well, I'll plan to get a second one.
OrganicAnn
We've done this in the past. My only caveat is don't fill them too full. They keep compressing down and it is easy to keep adding. Then you have to horribly heavy - about to burst garbage can that your can't move.
