sagira
I finally caved in and bought the workbook. Who was I kidding? I have three children - a 3rd grader, a preschooler, and an infant. No way am I going to spend time picking out appropriate copywork and dictation pieces that fit the criteria. I received it today, and promptly did Week 7 Day 1 Lesson, narration from Ginger Pye. This is what ds narrated to me, and I wrote it down in front of him (I accept CM style narrations, even though I do go through the comprehension questions with him): There was a little boy with his younger sister Rachel. While they were sitting on the bench, Jerry was thinking that their cat will become jealous if they get a dog. He knew which kind of dog he wanted, and he wanted to teach it tricks like play dead, walk on hind legs, heel, and beg. I corrected him on the names: He couldn't remember Rachel, and he said Jeremy instead of Jerry. Other than that it's all him. I think it's a fairly good summary, or CM style retelling of the story. What do you all think? I promise I won't bother you with these once I have the formula down ;)
golfcartmama
It sounds very close to what my ds gave me when we did that one 2 weeks ago.
