Recommended Posts

i finished 6b with my non mathy son after having done all pm bks, We moved into dm1 which he is not liking and slogs thru even basic exercises . im not sure its level of difficulty, age, (hormones he 12,5 boy) or needs better explantions or maybe due long lessons.their is defintelty a lack of foucus and most of his work is careless mistakes.

do you do dm with lial and how if so do u weave the two.

i am only in chapter two and everyday is battle of wits to get him focus and not make careless mistakes and takes sooo loong to complete ex,

pls if you can help with your experience

thanks

Both my twins went through Singapore 6. Last year (7th) I split them up. The one with more interest in math did DM1, the other did Lial's Prealgebra. They are both great programs. But I have to say, even the mathier one found DM1 quite challenging. If I had put her sister in DM1, she probably would've just shut down. The Lial's Prealgebra gave her confidence - she's now doing Lial's Algebra this year.

I might just consider switching him to Lial's entirely.
