brendag
I will be starting tomorrow and went through the audio file on the Don Potter site. He pronounced BU as boo, but why doesn't the U make a ewe sound? I was trying to think of different words as examples like burnt and butane. So should it be boo or bewe? Thanks! ElizabethB
The last page of the spelling rules explain when u is yoo and when it is oo. it shouldcone naturally for a native English speaker with no speech difficulties, but my ESL students and students with speech problems need to be e plicitly taught when to use each sound. http://www.thephonicspage.org/On%20Reading/Resources/spelling%20rulesa.pdf
