Do the at-home dry cleaning kits work?

Recommended Posts

I have a set of curtains (thin panels, not lined) that I bought at our local Goodwill outlet (where they sell textiles by the pound;)). They need to be dry-cleaned, but I hate to spend many times more than I paid for them to have them done. I am considering buying one of those dry cleaning kits for the dryer. Anyone used one?

What are they made of?

I wash lots of stuff (on "wool wash") that says dry clean only, and hang it to dry. Just about everything but men's suits in fact.

Rayon and polyester (55/45%). I think I'm going to have to try washing them, because the cat decided to use one of them as a litter box:glare:. We have a front loader, which is more gentle than the agitator, so hopefully they won't fall apart. I don't think dry cleaning will work on that situation, will it?
