Maura in NY
and if so, can you share how you used the two together? (And while I'm wishing - Do you have a document you showing your correlation schedule of the two programs?) Hoping not to reinvent the wheel, if possible. Thanks! Kristin in Hawaii
:bigear: I have the same materials on my shelf. Waiting while DS 15 solidifies his algebra and reviews his pre-algebra geometry on Aleks.com :lurk5: Kristin in Hawaii
HSDCY
We are using them this year, but I don't try to line the two programs up. We use Jacobs at ds's pace as our main program, then once a week, we take out Patty Paper Geometry and do one whole investigation. I find this method works well so far. Jann in TX
The series I use for Geometry (Holt) has examples similar to Patty Paper Geometry in many of the lessons. These are supplemental (not part of the normal teaching). For instance when the lesson teaches about finding the midpoint of a segment, there is an example of drawing a segment on the 'tracing paper' then folding the segment upon itself and creasing -- the 'fold' is where the midpoint is... If you look at the chapter review in the Jacobs text there will be a list of terms used in the chapter-- you should be able to coordinate the use of the Patty Paper demonstrations into the lessons, or as the other poster suggested, you can work them on a separate day.
