joyfulhomeschooler
For a third grader who is a pretty natural speller. Also what do I need? is it just the workbook?
BikeBookBread
Bumping this. We just started SW with my second grader. She was in PS for first, and they did not teach phonics. She is an outstanding reader, but her spelling is atrocious, so I bought SW1. It is a piece of cake, but it seems like I need the foundation to get her back on the right track. Could I jump ahead to 2?
mcconnellboys
If you want to cover the entire series by the end of sixth grade (in order to start vocab study in seventh), then I think you might prefer to cover just one book a year for the last two years (G and H). Those books are really more like word studies combined with spelling, anyway.... So I would think you'd want to start with book E this year (or do two books this year, perhaps: D and E). That would allow you to also only do one level next year, in fourth grade: F.
