warriormom
I really want to make science alive with fun projects like building a bird house, mixing colors etc. Any recommendations for a hands-on book like that? Also do you have any suggestions for a fun art book for kindergarteners that does not require a ton of supplies?
Lots of boys
We are using RSO Life this year with my K'er and 2nd'er. It is completely hands on - lots of fun experiments. It does however require a lot of supplies which I am trying to gather.
Tammy (TX)
We used The Usborne Art Treasury when my sons were 4 and 6 and we did quite a few of the projects very successfully! http://www.amazon.com/Art-Treasury-Rosie-Dickins/dp/0794514529/ref=pd_sim_b_2 I found out about it from the Harmony Fine Arts curriculum. http://www.harmonyfinearts.com/
blondeviolin
We own the Usborne Books of Science Activities and they are perfect for this age. They are simple explanations with projects to try out. So far they haven't required anything that I don't have at home... We really like them. (And if you can get the older versions, they're just as good and a little cheaper if you find them used.)

Glad to hear this - I have these on the way. To the op, there is actually a MaryAnne Kohl book called Science Arts: Discovering Science through Art Experiences. I haven't used it, but it looks fun. Many of her other books might work for you for art.
