My 8yo stb3rd grader HATES math. Ability wise, she'd be considered a bit below average. She likes manipulatives and brightly colored activities. She's completed Calvert Math 1 and a bit more than half of Calvert Math 2. She resists drilling facts at all costs, but can count on her fingers fairly fast and has the more basic facts down pat.

I am not going to be buying Calvert Math 3 this year. We will start the year by finishing up Math 2, but I think she may need some review before we jump back in.

I need INEXPENSIVE ideas that won't make her want to smother me in my sleep. I had some jotted down a while back but, well... :glare:

Oh, and secular content, please!

have you looked at MEP ?

It is free!

I like it because it is well laid out, with exact lesson plans & has both written & mental math in each lesson, plus little games & activities.

I'm pretty sure that was on my list of things to check out, lol.

Looking at it now, that just might work...

...once I stock up on ink! ;)
