home4school
Input? BTW, this is for a book-phobic boy. Thanks! Kim
elegantlion
How old and has he had any Latin previously?
home4school
Sorry, I guess that would help! LOL I had just started another thread about Spanish vs Latin and had put that in there, so I guess I thought I put it here, too. He's going into 9th and we very successfully did GSWL this past year. He seemed to ALMOST enjoy it and retained a good bit. Thanks! Kim

elegantlion
Have you looked at the samples of each? First Form is designed to be used by younger children. You might combine First and Second form for a credit worthy year. I've only seen the samples, so I don't know. Latin Alive is a full and rich program. It is definitely middle/high school level. Combined with the DVDs, I like this program. You can see the comparison to Wheelocks on the CAP website. Memoria Press and CAP are both decent companies. Many people have a preference of one over the other. I find CAP products work well for us. I'd probably print out samples of both and see which appeals to you and your ds. Bloggermom
I wanted to add that my son doesn't mind Latin Alive and actually requested to do Latin Alive 2 for 6th grade. However, he loathed First Form Latin and refuses to consider Second Form Latin. Not sure why.
