Amber in AUS
We used an exercise from The Poetry Pad from RFWP. DD has just turned 7, this is her first attempt at writing a poem. She doesn't enjoy writing although LA is her strong suit. We probably don't read as much poetry as we should. Here goes - W is for willow dancing in the wind, sounds of leaves whistling and little birds sing. The sweet smelling wood feels rough to your hand. Constructive, age appropriate comments welcome. I think she did a pretty good job, but i guess i'm biased :D

SonshineLearner
Very sweet, I'd be happy if my son wrote a poem like that :)

Guest submarines
So lovely! I love how all the senses are involved, and it flows so well too. My only suggestion would be to change 'your hand' to 'my hand', to make the poem more immediate and intimate. But it is for the author to decide :001_smile:.
