Plaid Dad Posted May 21, 2008 Share Posted May 21, 2008 The biblical phrase that's often translated as "children of God" in English (e.g., John 1:12, 11:52, Romans 8:16, 21) is filii Dei in Latin - literally "sons of God." The masculine is clearly meant to be generic there. Liberi Dei is another option, but it sounds a bit off to my ear. Both are in the nominative (subject) case.
