Roadrunner
bonjour or salut one more time, I will be sick! After years of thinking, we finally picked French and held a first lesson today. Maybe it was my high expectations, but, oh boy, was I wrong. Three adaults couldn't deal with two little kids. Oh why, why, why did I get myself into it. I can't explain how painful the experience was. Please, somebody tell me this will get better! I would rather teach a five year old calculus then say bon nuit to my kids
Erika
I don't know if it gets any better, but I sure hope so. I tried to use Easy French Jr. and thought since it mixed both English and French together in the conversation, that it was our problem. My ds would say the English words and not the French ("HELLO! I know you know English son," was all I could say!) So I just purchase L'Art de Dire in hopes it will be better. I say all this to say you are not in this along. Roadrunner
Thanks Erika. I sure hope it gets better. The plan is to outstubborn my kids, so either they will learn French or I will be in a mental institution by the end of this year :) We are using First Start French. I really like the program. Let me know what you think of L'Art de Dire. I know Classical Curriculum Press is also aplanning on putting together a French program. It's suppose to be availalbe next summer.
