ahancock
Does anyone here know when the heck the new AAR level is going to come out? I have been planning for this next school year and don't know what to do about the next level not being out!!
SnMomof7
I've heard it might be bumped back to August now.
ahancock
Bummer!! I'm sure that this is a question for the Chatter Bee group, but, I wonder if it is not ready in time for when I want to start, if I could just use AAS level 2 for phonics instruction? If you've already done AAS 1, then I think that would be a fine choice. You could add in the AAR readers that match or your own readers to work on fluency. SnMomof7
Have you done AAS 1 yet? I would recommend starting there if not :). Quite a few people have used it for phonics instruction though we haven't - we've done it more as review/intensive encoding (spelling), but I can definitely see how you could use it for phonics. Personally, I have found that my children have learned decoding (reading) much more quickly than encoding (spelling).
