Melissa B
I am currently preparing my dd's transcript that must be submitted to various people. It begins in 7th grade (as required.) I don't know what to label her 8th grade English class which she will begin in Sept. For 7th grade she is taking (not yet finished) Florida Virtual School's Advanced English 8 and that is how it needs to be listed on her transcript. So now we have 8th grade English coming up and labeling it English 8 would look like she repeated an English class (and at a lower level.) The work she will be doing this year is definitely above the FVS English 8 class, but I wouldn't call it high school level either. It seems so silly, but I don't know what to label it.
Jenny in Florida
I'd give it a name that reflects what she studied. American Literature. Medieval and Renaissance Literature. Etc.
choirfarm
What do you plan to cover? You could call it American Literature and composition or grammar and composition or whatever you will be studying. Christine
Melissa B
She will already be recieving a credit in American Literature. Excellence in Lit - American Literature (full program) additional reading/writing from Annals of American History (non-fiction, primary sources) This English class will be: Analytical Grammar (entire program) Galore Park English Year 9 (their 8th grade book) online comp class (worth maybe .25 credit, wouldn't consider it high school level) Teaching the Research Paper (by people of Analytical Grammar) Should I call it: Grammar .5 Composition .5 without any level attached? Suzannah
Could you call it something like "Advanced English" or "Intro to Secondary Grammar?"
