Hunter
I'm starting to plan my next unit study and the science part of it is on engineering and architecture, especially Roman/Italian engineering and architecture and ships/transportation that has facilitated missions. I was going to just cover the MatchCard on Bridges and stick to studying bridges, but I made the mistake of following a link posted here and found a 4H lesson plan on engineering a "boat" that can transport 1/2 cup beans...and...you know what it's like. Now I want to build a boat. I've never done an engineering lab. Where can I get a generic lab worksheet?
Honey Bee
Have you seen this book? Its a 608 page wonderworld of building. I love design and architecture and it is perfect for kids...I really don't think anybody could outgrow this book, its great for adults too! I linked you to a google preview which is very helpful. You'll have to get to about page 26-7 before you see a project. Its really a fun book. It has a load of information in it and lots of projects to. I find it to be very systematic too. Sorry I can't link you to a lab sheet, maybe pick up some green engineering paper? Edited June 23, 2011 by Honey Bee
