Teaching_Three
Has anybody used this? What do you think? I was going to buy the teacher guide, but I think I found it online for free, I have to wait till I go home to check it against the actual book though. I would like to use this with the HOD program BLHFHG.
Ummto4
It's not available free online, if what you mean by PLL is Serl's PLL. There is however another PLL online, but it's Sheldon's PLL which I think is more advanced than Serl's. I use the workbook version of PLL with my 2nd and 3rd grader. I bought the pdf version and print out the lesson as needed.
usetoschool
We use several of these - the free, vintage versions, like Sheldon, on google books seem a little more rigorous but we like the Serl one fine. I have the teacher's guides but rarely use them. If you are good at grammar at all you can probably do without them. A few extra ideas are thrown in but it is mostly an answer key. There were a couple of threads about vintage books a few weeks ago that have many good links and lists sorted by grade level and ideas about how to combine the books. I think vintage was in the title of both and they mostly focused and language arts books.
Teaching_Three
I'm not that great in grammar so I feel more comfortable with the manuals. I have some of the free books, but came across this one for dirt cheap. I will check for that vintage thread :001_smile:.
sagira
I love PLL. It's gentle, thorough, and builds skills gradually.
