Rosyl
Do you have a recommendation for a Thesaurus? I have one for young elemetary, but none for older kids and no idea which one is good.
MomsintheGarden
We like the Synonym Finder by Rodale in hardback if you can afford it. It's been around a while and is highly regarded. We also have The Original Roget's International Thesearuaus, ed. by Kipfer (recommended by Classical Writing), but we don't use it as often. I found it used on Amazon fairly cheap.
Rosyl
I found a synonym finder. I really needed help narrowing down what to get. Thank you both. For others looking--there are thesaurus' available at paperbackswap.
PenKase
We use the Roget's International Thesaurus. Two years ago, I bought this one it at our library's book sale. It is one of THE most used reference sources used by all of us. Even my dd7 uses it when she needs just the right word.
Amy in CO
We love the Synonym Finder by Rodale too. We actually have two copies because my two older kids were constantly needing it at the same time. So now they each have one.
Capt_Uhura
I was going to get the one SWB recommended, Roget's, but then when I checked the reviews, I saw that it had been reformatted/reorganized and it was now getting poor reviews. I'm thinking I have an older Roget's in my college book box. I wasn't sure which edition to get in order to have a "good" Roget's so I got a Synonym Finder. We have used it several times so far but I can't give a recommendation for any specific book as of yet.
Kareni
Yet another vote for Rodale's Synonym Finder. Amazon has it on deep bargain at the link I posted for $6.78 as I write. Regards, Kareni
Rosyl
It seems Rodales synonym finder is the big winner. Thanks.
