2boysmom
It's driving me crazy...I have this beautiful theme/classical song in my head. It's not piano, but strings and it sounds other-wordly, like night-time space. I've always wanted the title of the song so I could have it, but I only know how it goes in my head and that it was sometimes used for sad background music in films (I'm not even sure which ones). How's that for a mystery? It makes great, intensely sad music for a sad "Holocaust" scene. If I could sing it (of course that's hard here) it goes like: da, da, da, da, da, da, da,da,da, daaaaaaaaaaaaaan (an octave higher) da, da, da, da, da, da, da,da,da, daaaaaaaaaaaaaan Ugh. Any takers???? I know it's classical, not new-age. It's likely European. It's a composer's music and it's strings (not horns). Something 3rd movementish or 4th symphony or something.... Help! :confused1:

Alessandra
Oh, I am so glad!!! Your description was very good, especially the "other-worldly" part. I have loved this piece since college. BTW, Samuel Barber is an American composer.
