extendedforecast
DH is making tacos. He is a very good cook who likes to experiment. Today he added a small amount of celery to the meat, and now it is overpowered with celery flavor. Is there anything we can do to combat this flavor? I think it tastes good, but it doesn't taste like taco meat, and that is what we are going for. Thanks.
justasque
I would call it something different, and go with it. The only other option I can think of would be to add more meat (to dilute the celery) and freeze half. How far into the taco-ness are you? Can you go in a different direction entirely? Ibbygirl
Try adding some cumin powder.
extendedforecast
The taco shells are warmed up, the guacamole is done, and the veggies for salsa are boiling. He added more bell pepper and garlic. I wish we had more meat. Oh well, it's going to taste good anyway. Lesson learned. Thanks fr the quick response. extendedforecast
Try adding some cumin powder. Good idea. I'll tell him. That makes me want to make some chicken tortilla soup now, yum.
justasque
Add a can of beans, if you have one. That will expand things somewhat. And/or a (drained) can of tomatoes, and/or a (drained) can of corn.

extendedforecast
So the cumin did the trick. Thanks ibbygirl! The kids loved it and didn't complain a bit about all the veggies in the taco meat (DH added even more bell pepper and onion, plus some garlic). Now they are out enjoying the extra sunlight before I call them in.

It always saves mine too when I get *ahem* over zealous with the lime juice. ;) :D hehe
extendedforecast
Next time I'm going to tell him to try some lemon juice-but not too much, lol. Thanks again.
