mbosh237
Have any of you found it necessary to have 2 sets of manipulatives as the website suggests or do you find just one set to be plenty?
dsmama
You really only need one set. If you do time telling the way MUS does in Alpha, you may run low on five blocks, but honestly, we ended up only doing the MUS time way for a day or two and then switched to Kumon for clarity. You will be fine with one set for all of the lessons. That said, now that I have a second child clamoring for the math blocks (to play "school" at age four while big sis does math), I ended up buying a partial second set used from the sale board here at WTM. mbosh237
How much did you pay for the partial set? I bought 2 sets from someone not on here and after I received them I saw it was missing 8 of the 10-piece. I'm trying to decide if I want to return them or accept a partial refund. If I accept a partial refund I'm not sure how much to ask for back!
dsmama
I bought a partial set for $18 here. You will definitely need at least 10 of the blue 10-blocks to help with regrouping, etc.
Nojo317
We've done Primer through Gamma, and haven't needed more than one set.
mbosh237
Thanks Gwen! I have one full set with 21 10-blocks and then the second set had only 13 10-blocks and so was missing 8. These 8 blocks were all that was missing of of 2 sets.
