cjbeach
I picked up Teach Like Your Hair's on Fire at the library today:001_smile:, in the book a lot of the math information talks about Marcy Cook Math . Has anyone used her math tiles??? Any recommendations? Thanks so much!
scrapbabe
Now why would you post something like that here? Some of us are recovering curricula shop-a-holics! What is the matter with you?!:D Well, I've never used them, but now I gotta go research them. :bigear:
mryann
Gosh that book is inspiring! I'm thinking of getting early communicating with tiles for my 5 and 8 yr old and communicating with tiles for my 5th and 8th grader. Has anyone used this program? ReneTL
We've been using her tiles for a while and I really like them. It's a great way to warm up for the day and get the girls thinking about numbers. They are a bit pricey, but if you're selective about what to buy, you can keep the cost down. I've also sold some of sets we've worked through to buy new ones. Books we've used: Place Value Alone & Together Think 'N Touch: Handles for Problem Solving Early Communicating with Tiles Good Tile Sets: Plus Minus Checker Tiles Basic 4 Checker Tiles Mixed Op Balance Tiles I hope that helps! Peace, Rene
Spy Car
My son used these in his Kindergarten class. The times I volunteered in the classroom to help teach math I was very impressed. It was limited exposure for me, but I liked them. Bill
