melissel Posted January 12, 2011 Share Posted January 12, 2011 We're looking at going to the OBX the last week of August (into Sept.--Memorial Day weekend). The prices get substantially lower that week, it seems. Does anyone know why? Is it because most kids are already back in school that week? Or is the weather particularly awful or something? Is it very crowded that week in general? If anyone has any advice for going that week, I'd love if you could chime in. Last year we went in early June and the crowds were minimal, the weather was by turns cool and cloudy and steaming hot. I have no idea what to expect in August. TIA!
