Any elementary level astronomy texts besides Apologia?

For fourth grade OM, English, Science, and Social Studies are all together in the syllabus rather than in separate books, so for a $200 syllabus I personally would be looking at the whole plan to make sure I liked it, especially since astronomy is just one trimester.

One more option to look at is Mr. Q.

Or, in lieu of a textbook, A Child's Introduction to the Night Sky.

Thanks Crstarlette! I didn't realize that the Science with OM included the English, etc. I really like A Child's Introduction to the Night Sky. Since we won't be spending the whole year on astronomy anyway this might be just right. I have other misc. books that I could add as well as a Constellations coloring book, a teacher resouce type book on the solar system, etc. I may just have to piece this together...

Corraleno posted her ideas for covering astronomy without a boxed program.

Here is a link for one free online text. Jean in Wisc has some very nice ideas here. There is another thread in which Corraleno posted more ideas for astronomy without buying a program, but I can't find it yet. Anyway, if you want to put together your own astronomy study, this might get your started.
