Michelle in AL
This is a long shot, but someone recommended a book to me but couldn't remember the title. It was written by someone with Aspergers and told how he felt from his childhood through adulthood. There was a rather long section that focused on his either alcohol or drug abuse and possible criminal activity. Would anyone know the title or recommend a good book that would help someone who is neurotypical understand how it feels to have Aspergers. bzymom
Not sure if this is the one you are looking for, but the best I've read is "Look Me In The Eye" by John Elder Robison.
Michelle in AL
I don't think either of these would be it, since the person recommending it didn't mention any of the outlandish details that are in these books. She's a psychologist, so I'm pretty sure she'd recall if the author was in this dysfunctional of a family.
thescrappyhomeschooler
Was it this? Pretending to be Normal: Living with Asperger's Syndrome by L.H. Wiley I haven't read it, but this is what my son's psychologist recommended for dh to read.
