specialmama
It is SO freaking good! I hope I can remember what I did! I always wing my soups, they're never the same. So if you're a winger too, try this and see what you get: 1 large onion, chopped 3 garlic cloves, chopped about 2 TBSP oil 2 large carrots, finely chopped 8 cups chicken stock 3/4 bag dried lentils 1/4 bag barley 1/2 cup cooking sherry about 1/2 tsp pepper about 1 tsp marjoram 1/2 can tomato paste (I don't know why I added it, but it works) 1 tsp curry powder or to taste a pinch of Italian seasoning (again, I don't know why, but it works) Put first 3 ingredients in large pot. When onions are cooked, add the rest of the ingredients. Cook for about an hour and a half or until done. Sorry, I'm a winger, so there's no set time or temp here. I had it on high until it boiled, then brought it down to med., then to simmer. I also don't like salty food, so adjust to taste. But WOW is it ever GOOD and yummy!
