Lynn in Caribbean
Hi, Can anyone recommend a book about Catherine II Empress of Russia? My 8th grade dd would like to read more about her. Thank you!!
Hedgehog
My BIL is Russian.. I don't have any book recommendations as such, but according to him Catherine II was a colorful character so - IMO - whatever book you get I would have a read of it yourself first! mammaofbean
we have the royal diaries one. there are some others, but you would have to make sure that you get them from the children's section. . . . here is a list i found when i googled, scroll down to children's books http://www.royalty.nu/Europe/Russia/Romanov/CatherineII.html
JumpedIntoTheDeepEndFirst
Out of the list above I would go with the Whitelaw book. There is also one of the Landmark books Catherine the Great by Scherman (may need to find through a library or used copy).
kristavws
It is not a book, but there is a PBS docudrama on Catherine the Great. I know Netflix has it, but you may also be able to find it at your library. Krista
