Mallory Posted October 19, 2010 Share Posted October 19, 2010 I believe it is a term that usually applies to video games or software, not books, but basically it is just letting some people try out a first copy for free in exchange for suggestions about how to improve it. In this case she is e-mailing a chapter or two to familes that signed up several months ago and they are to try out the lessons and tell her the confusing parts, parts that work well, how she could make it clearer or work better.
