Staceyshoe
Ds's allergist recommended that we purchase two HEPA air purifiers for our home (one in his room and one downstairs). I know nothing about them. I tried researching last night, but I'm a little suspicious of some of the sites that came up on Google. (I wonder if they were paid to "advertise" or positively review some machines.) Any brand you recommend? Features to look for? Objective websites with reviews or comparisons? I prefer not spend more than $200 per machine if possible.

Mommyfaithe
You want to purchase the Field Controls UV AIRE 500 for the room and the 1500C for the downstairs part of your house. These are AMAZING in that they actually work. I don't need any allergy meds anymore unless I am going to be out for the whole day and my kids do not get sick as often. My house doesn't smell like pets. These things are awesome! http://www.fieldcontrols.com/uvaire.php Faithe
AngieW in Texas
I have bought all of our air purifiers from http://www.allergybuyersclub.com . The kind I buy from them now is: http://www.allergybuyersclubshopping.com/af-ap-airfree-air-purifiers.html?itemId=7 We still have two old-style purifiers with filters that have to be replaced. We're keeping them only because we need the white noise they produce and none of the new filters have white noise. Otherwise we'd all have the newer style.
