DragonFaerie
I really like the look of Teaching Textbooks for math and I'm wondering if there is some similar program out there for language arts. Right now my DS7 and DD8 are doing separate grammar workbooks, copywork (for handwriting), and spelling. DD is also doing Writing Strands and vocabulary. (DS is still working on phonics and does ETC so he's not doing separate writing and vocab yet.) I'd really like to find a language arts program that includes everything in one daily lesson and preferably something that DD can do on her own (she is very independent and reads at a 6th grade level). Any suggestions?

DragonFaerie
CLE is the only one that comes to mind. Thanks. That does look like what I'm wanting. Any suggestions for something secular?
LindaOz
Learning Language Arts Through Literature. It's not secular but you could probably adapt it. http://www.commonsensepress.com/covers.htm
MommaOfThree
What about Writing Tales .. it looks a little more secular than LLATL? http://www.olsenbooks.com/index.html I'm using (and liking) LLATL w/all 3 of my kiddos now, but I like how secular this appears & may try it w/my dd7 next year... creekmom
A friend of mine loves K12's language arts; it's independent, secular, on the computer, and includes reading/grammar/spelling/vocabulary and maybe writing, but I'm not sure. http://www.k12.com/courses/k-8-courses/
JenninMN
You might check out Starline Press. It is secular. Jennifer
Negin
I really, really like these books - thanks to Merry for recommending them to me a while back. Very thorough, comprehensive, and most of all, user-friendly. :)
