Cheri Warren
Has anyone used WS with their highschooler? Is it ALL you really need? I was considering using it alongside our Notgrass World History studies this year
cbollin
My oldest is in 9th grade this year. She used WS levels 3-6. Did WS 6 in 8th grade. But we're not using WS right now. Instead, this year she's using MFW's AHL program which uses Notgrass for ancient history, and AHL has its own writing and English to really help guide along to learn how to write. Very step by step instructions and grammar review along the way. The Notgrass writing assignments are things like write a 2-3 page paper on such and such topic. I'm glad to have other materials for teaching argumentative essay than just using WS but then again, I'm really enjoying the Bible/history/English all integrated approach in our base curriculum. I've like using WS as it has lots of variety of styles of writing, and encouraged our own thoughts and just get you writing. But as we go into learning more about longer essays and reports and all of that, I'm glad to use a more integrated approach. not sure that was what you were looking for at all. :) -crystal
