Jyniffrec
My 9 year old ds would like to do a project on ancient China, preferably about their military. Does anyone have any experience, ideas or links about how to do this? Thanks!

PeterPan
My dd did a kit like this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003JNBRG6/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_3?ie=UTF8&cloe_id=0d3ad710-471b-46c1-af0c-1581d930be4f&attrMsgId=LPWidget-A1&pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=0306817446&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1TY7EK1VSPJ9TR7BTS5R and LOVED it. I think the kit she had was by National Geographic. It was older, got at a sale. You excavated the Terra warrior and put him back together. If you can't find the kit, then your ds might enjoy just reading about them. Edited. Here, I FOUND it!!! http://shop.nationalgeographic.com/ngs/product/kids/toys-and-games/all-toys/terra-cotta-warrior-excavation-kits There are two types, cool! She had a ton of fun with it and spent probably 3-4 happy hours whacking, cleaning, assembling, reading. This was a year ago, so she was 9 1/2, 10 at the time. Guest
Great Ancient China Projects You Can Do Yourself, by Lance Kramer, has both reading about military weapons, etc. along with activities such as making a terracotta warrior (or, for the truly ambitious, an army); a model of a suspension bridge; a Chinese junk. There are also all kinds of other projects ranging from the arts to math to farming equipment and tai chi.
MaMa2005
Oh, let her excavate a Terra Cotta Warrior and study about Qin Zheng's army. http://www.chinasprout.com/shop/ADS020
Jyniffrec
Thanks for your posts! He has been reading a couple of books about China all weekend. I will look into the projects. I was surprised there wasn't all that much on Netflix about China but I did find a few movies. Does anyone have any experience with that?
