How to make t-shirts for 3 on 3 bball team?

I need to make these for my kids' basketball team. I was thinking of just using iron-on numbers and letters but someone suggested using the computer and printing it on iron-on transfer paper.

 

Ideally I would like something that looks decent, but isn't too tricky to put together. Does anyone have experience with this or any suggestions? Thank you!

Yes! I just made some for the kids in our Hogwarts Summer Correspondence School. It is super easy and they come out very nice! I use the Avery brand transfer sheets (there are ones for light or dark background). The ones that I buy do not require the graphic to be reversed (mirrored). But making a mirror is not a problem and most word processors or graphic programs do that. When you iron on, remember to press down hard and apply the pressure evenly especially along the edges. Make a 'practice' test first but you should have no problems. They wash well too. We haven't had any come apart in the wash. :)

I've done this before for a Halloween costume. I needed to make a tabard with a rampant lion on it. I downloaded a black and white image from the net, colored it in in Paint, and then printed it onto the iron-on transfer. You can pick up a pack of it anywhere; Walmart, Target, Staples.

 

It's not difficult at all. The box has directions for doing the transfer. It even gives directions for helping the transfer have a longer life.

That's the one I have too. I couldn't find the package and couldn't remember the brand. They are very nice and easy to use.

I've used the one above with fabulous results! I've made t-shirts for the lacrosse team that dh coached, and I made t-shirts for my fourth grade class at the end of last year.

 

I've used photos, and the art that you can go on line and find from Avery (instructions and website in the package) -- it wasn't difficult - time consuming, though. Leave yourself enough time as ironing them has to be done 'just so' - lift the iron, do not slide over the t-shirt.
