T Baer
SIM card from 1 phone and put it into another phone that perhaps your carrier doesn't carry?
Mynyel
I used to work with SIM cards. I know Cingular (well ATT I guess now) and T-Mobile (think someone bought them too) use them. Not sure if anyone else does anymore . Anyhow, if the phone is or was made by the carrier of your SIM then yes you can but if it isn't than no you can't. For instance if you have Cingular (ATT whatever) you can't put that SIM into a T-Mobile (or whatever) phone. I hope that is understandable! hsmom
I was told by my phone carriers that you can buy unlocked versions of phones and you can switch out the SIMS cards to them. Now sometimes even if it is an unlocked not branded to someone you can have problems with some of the internet and such, but she said for the most part they usually work.
