Carpe Diem
Younger dc (rising 4th grader) will do core 3, then 4. Should my older do core 5 this fall or 100? Or do 100 this fall and then 5. Maybe they could both do 5 together. From the SL forums, 5 sounds more involved. Does anyone have any input that I can consider regarding this decision? Thanks. :)
Mom22ns
My 5th grader did core 3+4 this year and my 7th grader did core 100. It was a great combination. We used the History of US books as a spine for both and skipped the 3+4 spines (even though I have them on my shelf). My 7th grader enjoyed the read alouds from 3+4 just as much as my 5th grader and they were all perfectly timed together. I haven't done 5 to compare. calandalsmom
Core 5. It will be perfect for that age. The EHE is challenging.
Cynful
I'd choose 100 and then do Core 5 together later. You can easily beef up Core 5 if you need to. Anytime you can keep them together, for your own sanity, is the right path IMO. :)
