MamaBear
I was wondering what the differences are between Writing With Ease and Writing Strands. We have not used a writing program yet - my dd is finishing Rod and Staff 4 and we will begin 5 in the fall. Thanks!
Amy Jo
Well if you are comparing WWE (the grammar stage book) vs. Writing Strands 1: WWE is doable and easier. Writing Stands is a collection of fun ways to play with words. I'm a compulsive planner and I couldn't figure out how to implement it. I've only seen Writing Strands 1, it seems the higher levels, being written for the student, would be better planned out. Amy
Haiku
I have not used WS but we will be starting WS3 next week and I have looked over that level fairly closely. I would say that WWE focuses on copywork, narration, and dictation while WS3 focuses on step-by-step guidance in creating original writing. I will be using both with my 3rd grader.
