Anne/Ankara
We're looking at our first AP test in May, with Environmental Science, and I just wondered if any seasoned veterans had any advice for us, with the last six weeks ahead of us. Just this week, my ds pulled out a review book, and started reading through it. Actually I can't wait until he does a practice test to see where he stands on mastering the material! In a few days, we'll see. Do you think the practice tests in those review books (Princeton Review, Barrons, Smartypants) are fairly accurate in terms of level, compared to the actual test? Does anyone have any advice in terms of test prep? Thanks! Feeling a bit jittery here!
Kareni
I think your son is in a good position if he has already covered all the material and is now beginning to work with test prep books. I have no first hand experience with Environmental Science but have seen the Smartypants book highly recommended on the College Confidential website. A post on this page gives recommended websites for AP Environmental Science: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/ap-tests-preparation/348921-chelsea-s-ultimate-list-websites-prep-learning-self-studying-aps.html Also look here to see if this might be of interest: http://www.hippocampus.org/?course=14 Regards, Kareni
Gwen in VA
My kids have always prepared just using 2 prep books.....working through one in entireity and then using the other as a quick review and doing tests from both. Ds is just starting the review process..... Best wishes!
Sandy in Indy
We've been preparing all year in conjunction with ds's Adv. Chem course. He tests May 13...I've got my fingers crossed! (They go over questions from an AP prep book every week in class, then ds studies them on his own. We'll probably do a practice test as well.) Jan in MO
My dd is studying for 3 APs this year. She did 2 APs last year. She is in the throes of going through her notes, test prep books and old AP exams and then repeating that process for the next 5 weeks or so.
