Question about achievement tests for homeschoolers (especially in NM, but anywhere)

Recommended Posts

How would a homeschooler best go about getting an achievement test for their child? In Albuquerque, New Mexico in particular, can kids sit in on the test at the public school? Or is there a department of APS that would administer the test for them? Is there a good test that a homeschooler can simply administer herself at home?

Thanks!

You can administer some tests yourself. I think you can order the ITBS or Stanford Achievement Test from bjupress.com

You can, but you have to get "certified"" to give the test yourself, or choose a proctor that is certified through BJU. I have a bachelor's degree, so all I did to get certified was fax them a copy of my degree (transcript) along with the form they wanted me to fill out. Within 2 days, I was certified to give both the stanford and IOWA to my kids. :)
