I'm working on our history for next year. I have the word "Homer" written on one my pages ... could you please tell me some books to write under it? (LOL) My littles are in 3rd and K. Looking for some great retellings that I could read to them now, but they could read later.

thanks

Angela

These aren't books, but they were my littles first intro to the Illiad and Odyssey. Natasha at Story Nory does a great job narrating. The story lines are greatly cut down, but retain the spirit and exciting bits. This might be a good way to familiarize them with the storys and characters before attempting longer versions. Black Ships Before Troy and The Wanderings of Odysseus by Rosemary Sutcliffe are great--well written and illustrated--but can be long for wiggly little ones if they are not used to read alouds. They are worth it though.
