Cinder
In our search for an online computer course option that would fit in ds's schedule for next year, dh spoke with Derek Otieno about his course offerings. Mr. Otieno suggested ds pursue AP Comp Sci. He didn't seem concerned that ds hadn't had any other formal programming course. He was more concerned with his math progression, stating that Alg II was a concurrent requirement. (Other programs say Alg II is a prerequisite.) If your dc has taken the AP level, could you share your experience? Thanks, Cinder
C_l_e_0..Q_c
Can't help you there, but I'm wondering where your son would be taking this class? Is it online?
Cinder
Here's the link: http://www.acit.us.com/l00l/ Derek Otieno is the instructor. If you search this board you'll find a couple of posts about his courses. He was excited to share that he had 15 students last year, 14 of which scored 4's and 5's on the AP exam. (Can't remember the exact breakdown right now.) He also said once the class was set up they would establish a live chat time, usually around 9pm (Eastern time) once a week for about an hour.
