Pro: protecting republic (a senator was responsible for protecting freedom against tyranny. Didn't want democracy ( felt that only morally grounded men can govern themselves, and the crowd ws very fickle) con- he hadn't done anything wrong! the republic was weak and corrupt the conspirators weren't protecting Rome-they were jealous of Caesar any other points to make??
