Guest Lorna
I have been looking at one of my favourite blogs Home Chemistry and they use wintergreen candy to demonstrate Triboluminescence. I was feeling my typical regret at not having access to so many of the resources needed in our American science books when it dawned on me that it may be 'menthol' in Britain. Does anyone know? This experiment just looks to good to miss...
Book Crazy
If I'm not mistaken, I think that they are Polos.
BritAnnia
I'm not sure about wintergreen or menthol but I just asked my mother who is currently visiting, and from what she said I did a quick google to confirm that mint polo's might be a good replacement for lifesavers. I've linked the site for you, the info is at the bottom of the page. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A3073655 HTH
Guest Lorna
Thank you! That gives me a good excuse to munch polos. :tongue_smilie:
